CFAO Car Showroom

A new custom-built showroom for CFAO on Pugu Road, Dar es Salaam. At the time of construction, CFAO were Tanzanian exclusive agents for Mercedes, Nissan, Suzuki and Jeep.

Given the narrow site, the exterior form of the building has been designed as a quadrant to maximise display area to the main road.

Although much glass has been provided on the elevation (in order to maximise display space), building orientation and heavy vertical and horizontal louvres minimise any excessive solar glare or heat build-up in the showroom. Internally the focus is on natural materials such as local hardwood, veneered plywood panels and fair faced concrete. Exposed services in the room give a sleek industrial feel to the spaces.
