Beach House Complex
The brief from the client was to provide a modern family house with interesting spaces and volumes. The residence is built around a high, triple volume entrance hall, from which all ground and first floor rooms radiate. Natural light filters down from a rooflights to the internal spaces below. Externally the building is dominated by the cantilevered roof which sheds the building below and is supported partly on the exterior walls and partly on tall steel columns.
This project at the outset began as a refurbishment project of an existing residence. However, due to the poor condition and aesthetics’ of the original building, very little of the structure remains.
